Leadership 2025 Awarded Charitable Status

FOUNDATION CHARITABLE STATUS AWARDED BY THE CHARITY COMMISSION FOR ENGLAND AND WALES

22nd October 2020

Leadership 2025, an intensive nine-month leadership development programme designed to encourage, fund, and support the development of tomorrow’s housing sector leaders from under-represented groups, has been awarded Foundation charitable status by the Charity Commission for England and Wales.

Whilst the housing sector is more diverse than other sectors, it falls significantly short in the proportion of BME people in key leadership roles, with just 4% being held by individuals from BME backgrounds.

Says Gina Amoh, co-founder of Leadership 2025 and Chief Executive of Inquilab Housing Association:

“We know there is talent in the sector, but we need to encourage it to come through. Achieving Foundation charitable status will enable us to develop further programmes and funding opportunities for more BME people, both directly and through charitable and other partnership grants.”

Leadership 2025 programmes are delivered in partnership with Roffey Park and funded through a collaboration network of housing associations and organisations. For more information on Leadership 2025 visit www.leadership2025.co.uk.
