Inquilab Chief Executive named in list of Top 20 Women in Housing

CELEBRATING THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF WOMEN WHO ARE MAKING A REAL DIFFERENCE IN THE SECTOR

23rd October 2020

Gina Amoh, Chief Executive of Inquilab Housing Association, has been recognised for her outstanding contribution to the housing sector in Inside Housing’s ‘Women in Housing: Leaders 2020’ list.

Gina is recognised for her tireless work in promoting diversity within the sector and for the creation of Leadership 2025 – a nine-month training programme for senior BME leaders.

Former Chair of BME London Landlords group, during her term [which ended in September 2020], Gina shone a light on diversity and promoted greater representation across the sector. She created the Leadership 2025 initiative which promotes, funds, and supports the development of tomorrow’s housing sector leaders from BME and under-represented groups. Gina is also acknowledged in her role as Chief Executive of Inquilab where she has driven significant changes and improvements across the association.

The list, which replaces the previous ‘Women in Housing Awards’ honours and celebrates the achievements of women who are making a real difference in the sector.

On announcing the list, Inside Housing said: “These are 20 extraordinary women. It was an incredibly difficult task to narrow down from the more than 350 entries, many of which were of an exceptionally high calibre.

“These women are at many different points in their career and work in all sorts of roles and in different parts of the housing world … bringing their expertise and passion to bear to drive the sector forward, address the UK’s dire housing crisis, and work to the benefit of communities.”

Says Gina: “I am very proud to be listed alongside other women in the sector whom I greatly admire for their work, tenacity, and contribution to housing. Although as a sector we attract a lot of female employees, women remain under-represented in senior leadership roles particularly from BME groups. This is something our Leadership 2025 programme is changing.”
