Volunteering

DEVELOP SKILLS, HAVE FUN, AND ENJOY THE BENEFITS OF VOLUNTEERING

As a community-led organisation, we are keen to involve our residents in our work whilst, at the same time, offering the opportunity for residents to gain valuable work experience and  develop key skills through volunteering.

In addition, volunteering has many benefits, including meeting new people, sharing experienes and skills, broadening knowledge and interest, and it is proven to help boost mental, physical, and emotional wellbeing.

There are two types of volunteering opportunities we can help with:

Volunteering at Inquilab

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities in the following areas:

All our existing volunteering opportunities are posted on our careers page here. Otherwise, if you are interested in volunteering for Inquilab please send us an email explaining which area you would like to volunteer for, and why, to: recruitment@inquilabha.org. If you have a CV please attach that too.

For a Community or Charity Organisation in Your Area

If you have some time to spare and are passionate about helping others, the environment, or local causes, there are many organisations that would like to hear from you.

From tree-planting, sports projects, and organising fundraising events, there are lots of ways you can get involved within your community while enjoying the benefits of volunteering.

There are a number of organisations that can help you find a volunteering opportunity that suits you, including:

  • The Conservation Volunteers is a national conservation charity that offers volunteering opportunities for people to develop and protect our green spaces
  • Do-it.org is a database of UK volunteering opportunities. You can search more than a million volunteering opportunities by interest, activity or location and then apply online
  • You can also contact Volunteering England, or Volunteering Matters to find opportunities in your area
  • Join-in is an organisation which runs volunteering projects as a legacy of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Contact them to find out about how to get involved with local sporting and community projects
  • Young people can also volunteer either at school or in their own time. If you’re aged 16 or 17 you can take part in the National Citizen Service (NCS)

Please note that you may need a DBS check and be required to complete an application process before being offered a volunteering place.
